David Ellis

Pastor David Ellis grew up in the beautiful state of Oregon. He was saved March 11 at the age of 14 while attending a Gospel service at Calvary Baptist Church in Casper, Wyoming. He was called into the ministry in 1979. Pastor Ellis has been the senior Pastor of Gateway Baptist Church since January of 2002. He has three daughters, one son, and seven grandchildren.
After moving to Mountain Home, Idaho in 1977 with his parents, Pastor Ellis met his wife, Tammy and they were married in the summer of 1979. He attended Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College in the fall of 1979. He received his Bachelor of Theology and his Masters in Church Ministries from Salt Lake Baptist College. He served in different ministries such as the Youth Pastor and even Senior Pastor for 19 years at Faith Baptist Church in Layton, Utah. He was ordained on June 1, 1983 and was awarded an honorary doctorate from Salt Lake Baptist College on April 24, 2003.

Dan Murray

Bro. Dan Murray is a native of the Las Vegas valley. He grew up under the ministry of Liberty Baptist Church, Pastor David Teis. Dan was saved at the young age of 5. On December 22, 2004, he surrendered his life into full time ministry with the desire to serve as a youth pastor in Las Vegas.

Following his high school graduation in 2005, he attended Pensacola Christian College to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries. He then continued his studies at Pensacola Theological Seminary, and in 2011 he received his Master of Arts in Bible Exposition. During the summers between his college years, he interned in several different ministries around the country. Following graduation, Dan worked as a Summer Pastoral Intern at Southern Hills Baptist Church. At the end of the summer, Dan interviewed with Pastor Ellis and was brought on as our Youth Pastor in August of 2011. That same summer he met his wife, Rachel, and they were married in December of 2012. In January of 2015, he and his wife, gave birth to their daughter, McKenna Rae.

Brother Dan’s focus in youth ministry is to show teenagers that God’s Word isn’t just for adults, but for the practical and everyday application in the lives of teenagers as well.

Rachel Murray

Rachel Murray serves as our Pastoral Staff Secretary. Rachel grew up in a pastor’s home all her life, under the ministry of her father, Pastor David Ellis, Gateway Baptist Church. Rachel was saved at the age of 12 years old. Rachel also assists her husband, Dan Murray, in the Youth Ministry of Gateway Baptist Church.

Following her high school graduation in 2010, she attended West Coast Baptist College College to receive her Associate Degree in Secretarial Science. Following graduation, Rachel was brought on to our staff in June of 2012. In December of 2012, Rachel married our Youth Pastor, Dan Murray.

Rachel is a vital member of our staff, and is also a very vital help in assisting her husband, in various aspects of our growing youth ministry.
